Home to the towns of Skibby and Jaegerspris, the peninsula of Hornsherred also boasts some of Denmark's most attractive countryside. This region is characterised by extensive swathes of woodland, rolling hills and ever-present views of the region's two main stretches of water, Roskilde Fjord and the Isefjord. Family attractions here include the world famous Tivoli Gardens, Amalienborg Palace, the Planetarium, and the Old Town, which is bisected by 'Strøget', Europe's longest pedestrianised shopping street, which contains stores for every taste.
